PHILADELPHIA – Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and the Adam Taliaferro Foundation will partner once again to present the Second Annual Adam Taliaferro Foundation & Magee Rehabilitation Golf Outing on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill, Pa.
Taliaferro was a patient at Magee back in 2000 when Taliaferro, a freshman cornerback for Penn State, received a spinal cord injury while making a clean hit in a game against Ohio State. Told he may never walk again, after 3 grueling months of therapy at Magee and with the unyielding support of his family, Taliaferro walked out of Magee on his own, shifted his focus and talents away from the football field and graduated from Penn State. He later went to law school and became a lawyer…… all while starting the Adam Taliaferro Foundation to help those who, like him, had been injured in a sanctioned sporting event.
Proceeds from the golf outing—which includes golf, dinner, cocktails and auctions—will benefit spinal cord injury research, rehabilitation, and quality of life programs supported by both the Adam Taliaferro Foundation and Magee Rehabilitation Hospital.
Magee Rehabilitation Hospital is a US News & World Report-best physical and cognitive rehabilitation hospital. The Adam Taliaferro Foundation provides emotional, financial and educational support to individuals who suffer catastrophic head or spinal cord injuries in sanctioned team events in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Delaware.
