Attendees at the Annual ATF Medical Symposium learnproper technique in dealing with a football injury
VOORHEES, NJ -- The 2009 Adam Taliaferro Foundation Medical Symposium was a huge success.
The symposium, organized for athletic trainers, healthcare personnel and coaches, attracted 75 attendees to the William G. Rohrer Health Fotness Center in Voorhees, NJ on September 29.
The attendees, who hailed from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, heard lectures from renowned experts in the sports medicine field. Topics included the prevention, evaluation, on-field management, treatment and rehabilitation of sports-related cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine injuries. An update on concussion management was also provided as well.
The speakers included Jon Heck, Stockton College; Casey Christy, Eastern Regional High School and Rowan University; Gary Dorshimer, MD, Philadelphia Flyers; Robb Rehberg, William Paterson University; and Merrick Wetzler, MD, South Jersey Orthopedic Associates.
